I just got back from my trip to Newport. I was able to see the Breakers, the Elms, Rosecliffs, and Marble House. I also had a meeting with one of the curators at the Newport Preservation Society to see Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney's wedding dress (Consuelo's cousin that got married the year after her). It was an amazing trip and I will write up a little summary of my thoughts and reflections. I have posted my photos to my share site. Unfortunately, I was only able to take photos of the exterior of the houses. I was allowed to photograph the wedding dress I viewed though and the curator helped me to photograph the interior construction of the gown.
